I am told that it isn't a successful workout if you ain't sweating....Well, let me first say, I ain't sweated so profusely in a while. I got there early so Kelly could take my measurements and weight. Of course I closed my eyes. I like denial. I told her she could tell me what it all said after our first 4 week session. So, its for Kelly to know and me and you to find out.
I knew it was gonna be a great workout and fun (well, maybe not fun yet) when the first song coming on was "Dancing Queen"... Oh what a song...brings back major memories. Memory #1 I am 7 or 8 and in my living room with my best friend Susan McAnnally. We loved to write songs, write plays, and choreograph to songs. We especially loved our 45 Dancing Queen by Abba. Oh we had that song choreographed well! Anytime anyone came over to the house, we performed for them. One time one of the deacons of Southside Baptist church came a'callin' and we decided to put on a show...we sang the Devil went down to Georgia and then followed it up with our routine to Dancing Queen! What fun. Not sure what the deacon thought...probably that my parents were going to hell (it was a Baptist Church) for lettin us sing about the devil and then dance on top of that!
Memory #2 was at Royal Family Kids Camp two summers ago. As a leader I was in charge of the Fantasy Center where the kids came to play dress up. Well, there were some clothes there for us big people too. Each day, I wore a different costume...and my alter ego's name was Roxy. Well, on the last full day, we had a talent show...and the kids got to dress up and perform for each other. They loved it...(Clean up duty for me wasn't so fun) Well, Roxy got herself into a prom dress and then Cindy Dycus dressed up like a man in a suit and we performed a routine to the song.....You guessed it, Dancing Queen. Well, just a teensy weensy bit into it, Cindy dipped me and dropped me and fell on top of me....(Not part of the plan...but very very funny) . So we got up and I kept it going.....but she was hurtin...and I didn't know....She finished the routine.....but, come to find out, she had torn her MCL.....Had to leave early and go home. Now when I see her at church we laugh and call each other Dancing Queen.
So I just knew that song was a gift to me...It was gonna be fun.
I think it was a good workout. I mean, if having dizzy spells and almost throwing up counts, then I'm all good. I am one day into it...I know I will get better and stronger, and I can't wait to see results. Kelly was hard. I know I am gonna die on Wednesday mornings cuz, her husband Joey does the 5:30 a.m. class and I have to do that class on Wed. due to my Bible Study. I told him today, "Please don't hurt me!" He just smiled....So more on that on Wednesday I suppose. Stay tuned.
In the meantime, I hear that you have to eat real healthy too....I began my day with oatmeal, pecans, and an egg......water....snack was a couple slices of Boars Head Turkey, apples and a laughing cow cheese wedge. I get to eat in an hour again. I am supposed to eat every 2.5 to 3 hours. Gotta drink lots of water too.....Oh Boy! Its gonna be a ride!
